Kolenkit
A striking vintage black enamel coal scuttle with an unusual tall, tapered design and beautiful aged character.
This original mid-century household utility piece was made for storing and carrying coal beside a fireplace or stove. The tall, sculptural shape makes it much more than a practical object today — it is an attractive piece of vintage industrial and farmhouse decor.
The scuttle is finished in glossy black enamel and features two sturdy curved side handles. The bottom has a distinctive series of concentric raised rings, adding to its industrial character.
The enamel shows authentic signs of age and use, including small chips, scratches and areas of surface rust, particularly around the exposed metal edges and base. These imperfections are part of the item’s original vintage character and have not been artificially distressed.
It would look wonderful beside a fireplace or wood-burning stove and could also be used decoratively as a holder for firewood, kindling, blankets or even as an unusual planter.
