Vintage Alessi Twergi Wooden Kitchen Set – Italy – Ettore Sottsass Design – Pepper Mill & Container
A wonderful vintage Alessi Twergi set from Italy, featuring two beautifully turned wooden kitchen objects with the distinctive sculptural character of the Twergi collection.
The set consists of:
A charming wooden pepper mill with hand crank, stainless steel mechanism and three metal legs
A matching wooden container with domed lid
Both pieces are marked with the characteristic TWergi / Italy logo.
The Twergi collection was introduced by Alessi in 1989, inspired by the traditional wood-turning craftsmanship of the Strona Valley in northern Italy. The collection became particularly associated with the distinctive and playful designs of Ettore Sottsass.
The combination of warm natural wood, polished metal and sculptural geometric forms makes these pieces particularly attractive to collectors of Italian postmodern design and vintage Alessi.
