Beautiful Pair of Japanese Imari-Style Porcelain Bottle Vases
A striking matching pair of Japanese porcelain bottle vases, decorated in the classic Imari palette of deep cobalt blue, iron red and gilt gold.
The rounded bottle-shaped bodies feature richly decorated floral panels with peonies, chrysanthemums and other flowers, surrounded by elaborate scrolling foliage and traditional geometric borders. The long slender necks are decorated with scrolling gilt motifs against a deep blue ground.
Both vases retain a red Japanese character mark within a circular seal on the base.
The pair has a particularly decorative and elegant appearance and would make a beautiful display in a traditional, Asian-inspired or eclectic interior.
